The World and Country Group Aggregates (historically called BOPSY) is an annual publication, released each November, of major balance of payments and international investment position components for countries, country groups, and the world.
What the numbers show
Primary income, Debit/Expenditure (US dollar) is currently reported for 198 countries. The highest value is 1.49 trillion in United States; the lowest is -32.38 million in São Tomé and Príncipe, Democratic Republic of.
The median across all reporting countries is 2.20 billion, and the mean is 39.37 billion.
The gap between the highest and lowest reporting country is a factor of about 46,082.
Over the past decade 162 countries rose and 34 fell. The largest increase was in South Sudan, Republic of (up 22,294.3%), and the largest decrease in São Tomé and Príncipe, Democratic Republic of (down 656.9%).
